Saudi beaches are beautiful, but the corniches in Saudi are where the cities truly come to life. The most happening parts of Saudi’s coastal cities, the waterfronts are where people gather, get fit and just plain chill out.

Here are 5 of the most beautiful corniches to visit in Saudi:

5. Yanbu Corniche

The Yanbu corniche is a great place for an early morning or late evening stroll. Enjoy the breeze coming off the Red Sea. There are playgrounds and green areas for recreation. It’s not super developed, which means you’ll rarely find it over crowded, and it’s very clean and well maintained. Pack your own picnic basket for a serene snack by the sea.

4. Dammam Corniche

One of the Eastern Province’s top attractions, the Dammam Corniche is super green and well-maintained. Especially popular and bustling during the summer evenings, it’s full of fun for the whole family. Kids can enjoy playgrounds and rides, while the grownups pick up a coffee or go for a jog. You don’t want to skip the corniche’s crowning gem, Marjan Island, with its grand white lighthouse. You can sometimes catch a ferry to give you a little round in the Arabian Gulf and check out the fresh seafood at the nearby restaurants.

3. King Abdulaziz Economic City Beach Walk

Residents and visitors alike love this super happening area in KAEC. There are several parks along the Beach Walk, including one where you can see zoo animals shaped out of trees and bushes. From time to time, the Beach Walk even holds festivals and events. There are several cafes to grab coffee or ice cream — there’s even an Al Baik! Ride your bikes or let your kids scooter around the super walkable area with a view of the turquoise waters. From time to time, the Beach Walk even holds festivals and events.

2. Khobar Corniche

Khobar’s waterfront area is full of new developments, especially huge restaurant plazas and cafes. Take a photo by the popular “I heart Khobar” sign and check out the art installations all around. Kids can enjoy the many open green spaces and playgrounds, or the whole family can even get active by renting bikes to cycle down the gorgeous waterfront. 1. Jeddah Corniche

The seemingly endless Jeddah Corniche seriously has all the fun your heart can desire. Restaurants, fishing, boating, picnic areas, parks and even a “floating” mosque are some of the top attractions. You’ll also be able to find some cool street art and an open-air sculpture museum. The jewel of the corniche is hands down the King Fahd Fountain — the tallest at the world — which is a sight to behold, especially when lit up at night. Grab a seat at a cafe and watch the sunset. Make sure you keep your selfie stick handy because there’s just so much to capture.
