The 2022 Dakar Race Will Be Held In Saudi Arabia
It’s official – the 2022 Dakar Race will also be taking place across the deserts of Saudi Arabia.
The 2022 Dakar Races will take place between January 2 and 14
The news was confirmed by the Amaury Sport Organisation (ASO) and the Saudi Arabian Automobile and Motorcycle Federation (SAMF).
The 2021 Dakar also took place in Saudi Arabia and was one of the few major events that were (held at the beginning of the year) last year.
The 2021 edition of the race produced 2,300 hours of television action which were broadcast in more than 190 countries, with 4.5 million also following on social media.
The 2022 Dakar promises some new and unexplored routes

There will be three stages with 100 percent sand and dunes, including a marathon stage in the middle of the dunes.
This will be followed by a rest day in Riyadh.
Week two will introduce four rather difficult stages as well as a lot of navigation and more dunes.

The Ministry of Sports has announced that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia will be hosting the Dakar Rally again – for the second year in a row.

The Dakar Rally organizers have has released details of the route for the 2021 edition, featuring nearly 5,000 competitive kilometers divided into 12 stages that are “80-90% new”.
