Gone are the days when people living in Saudi need to travel to Dubai or Bahrain to ring in the New Year.

Riyadh will, for the first time ever, celebrate the New Year with massive fireworks

On December 31, the capital of Saudi Arabia will host a formal countdown to 2020 complete with a fireworks display, music, and more.

And while fireworks in Riyadh are not uncommon, this is the first time Saudi Arabia will be celebrating New Year’s Eve on such a massive scale.

The event is organized by Shamal, an established event organiser specializing in tourism and outdoor activities, and will also see extra activities such as buggy drift experiences, and horse riding.

Tickets are priced at SAR460.
