There’s No Stopping Sophia The Robot As She Makes It On The List As One Of 5 Knowledge Ambassadors In The UAE
Sophia The Robot, our beloved and very own humanoid robot, known for receiver her Saudi citizenship a few months ago has done it again. This time, she’s taken on the United Arab Emirates and is making us proud for being acknowledged as one of the 5 knowledge ambassadors for the Knowledge Summit 2017.
On Wednesday, Sophia (created by Hanson Robotics) was named among the top 5 knowledge ambassadors by the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Foundation, as reported by The Khaleej Times.
The other four in the same category as Sophia are:
- Jason Silva (TV personality and futurist)
- Muna AbuSulayman ( Arab and Muslim media personality)
- Major Dr. Rashid Hamdan Al Ghafri (DNA and Biology Expert in the Department of Foresnsic Dciences and Criminology at the Dubai Police
- Tanmay Bakshi, a 13-year-old artificial intelligence developer
The latest initiative by the MBRF will choose knowledge ambassadors, like they have with Sophia, every year..
So that there will be a unified group of activists working to improve and motivate knowledge and education amongst the Arab world.
