Netflix Has Blocked An Episode Of Patriot Act In The Kingdom For Violating Laws

Netflix has removed an episode of Hasan Minhaj’s Patriot Act in Saudi, for violating the Kingdom’s cyber crime laws, it has been reported.

The episode is titled ‘Saudi Arabia’ and discusses the Jamal Khashoggi murder scandal and rulers of KSA.

Netflix has confirmed it removed the episode from Saudi Netflix, following a request by Saudi’s Communications and Information Technology Commission, for violating laws.

Netflix issued a statement on the matter to Financial Times, stating: “We strongly support artistic freedom worldwide and only removed this episode in Saudi Arabia after we had received a valid legal request — and to comply with local law.”
