Sharjah Has Started Charging 25 Fils For Single-Use Plastic Bags Starting Today, October 1
Sharjah has joined the other Emirates with their decision to charge for single-use plastic bags
Starting today, October 1, all single-use plastic bags cost 25 fils in Sharjah. This is in line with the aim to have a no plastic policy by January 2024
Even online deliveries have to follow the pricing rules to try and reduce wastage
All stores; like retail, electronics, restaurants and pharmacies are required to charge 25 fils on single-use bags at counters. This is similar to what Dubai and Abu Dhabi implemented earlier this year.
