A UAE Woman Has Topped The Forbes’ List Of Most Powerful Women In Government

Sheikha Lubna Al Qasimi, UAE’s Minister of State for Tolerance, has done us all proud by coming in first as the most powerful Arab woman in government in 2017. The list, from Forbes Middle East, also contains another category for the most powerful Arab businesswomen; and UAE takes the most number of women. 

Sheikha Lubna Al Qassimi was followed by two Egyptian women on the list

Women in the Middle East are front runners in the banking sector, according to Forbes

Women in the Arab region’s banking sector represents 28 percent of Forbes businesswomen list this year. A few notable names include Saudi Arabia’s Rania Nashar, the CEO of Samba Financial Group and the first woman to take charge of a commercial bank in KSA. Other names such as Latifa AlSabhan (CFO of Arab National Bank) and Sarah Al Suhaimi (chief executive of NCB Capital), Lubna Olayan of Saudi’s Olayan Group and UAE’s Sheikha Boudour Al Qasimi, chairwoman of the Sharjah Investment and Development Authority.
