To celebrate the UAE’s 45th National Day, inmates are being given an opportunity to start a new life. UAE President HH Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan has ordered the release of 1,102 prisoners to commemorate the day. The prisoners are being released on good behaviour and the Attorney-General of Abu Dhabi, Ali Mohammed Al Balushi has urged for incarcerated prisoners to also demonstrate good behaviour. HH Sheikh Khalifa hopes this release will ease the suffering of the families of those who are released. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid, Vice President and Ruler of Dubai, released 292 prisoners from Dubai based prisons, while Dr Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Ruler of Sharjah, has ordered the release of 105.
