Sharjah Police have arrested a gang that attempted to smuggle narcotics hidden inside marble stones. The operation, dubbed as ‘the destructive stone,’ was a success thanks to the efforts of the Anti-Narcotics Department.
The three arrested individuals, all of Asian nationality, were caught trying to bring in over 226 kg of hashish, psychotropic substances, and other drugs concealed within marble slabs. They were directed by dealers from outside the country.
Colonel Majid Sultan Al-Asam, Director of the Anti-Narcotics Department, explained that the department received intelligence about the gang’s operations and began monitoring their activities. The gang used different methods to hide the drugs in marble shipments to evade detection.
