A man filed a lawsuit against a woman for AED 1 million after a five-car pileup accident that left him disabled. The woman, who admitted to reckless driving, was fined AED 1,000. As reported by Khaleej Times, the incident has sparked conversations about road safety and the legal repercussions of negligent driving.
The accident occurred when the woman inattentively and unlawfully veered off from the extreme right lane to the left, colliding with a vehicle to her left. This sudden maneuver caused a chain reaction, involving a total of five cars. The victim, who was among those affected, sustained severe injuries that have resulted in a permanent disability.
The collision happened on Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Road, which is known for its heavy traffic and high-speed limits.
Eyewitnesses reported that the woman’s vehicle abruptly swerved across multiple lanes, leading to the catastrophic pileup. Emergency services were quick to respond, but the damage had already been done. The victim was rushed to the hospital, where doctors confirmed the severity of his injuries.
In court, the woman admitted to her reckless driving, resulting in an AED 1,000 fine. However, the financial and emotional toll on the victims has been significant. The plaintiff’s lawsuit for AED 1 million aims to cover medical expenses, loss of income, and compensation for the pain and suffering caused by the accident.
