IPL 2020: Chennai Super Kings Cricketer Shane Watson Is Over The Moon To Be Back In Dubai

Most of the Indian Premier League professionals have landed here in Dubai on Friday, August 21 as the Twenty20 cricket league will take place in the UAE this year, due to the situation in India caused by the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

The Aussie all-rounder cricketer, Shane Watson, (who currently plays for the Chennai Super Kings in IPL, a franchise led by MS Dhoni) landed in Dubai this morning with the rest of the CSK team and shared his excitement of being back in the city with his social media fam… and well it’s clear as day that Shane Watson is LOVIN DUBAI. (What a great plug there?)

The rescheduled IPL season is all set to be held in Dubai, Sharjah and Abu Dhabi from Sep 19 – Nov 10. But before they can begin prepping for the games, all the players will be quarantined and required to pass COVID-19 tests.

“My 7-Day room bound quarantine here in Dubai has just started. It’s so cool to be here to get into the preparation for another exciting season of @IPL

Although Shane didn’t reveal which hotel he’s currently at, it’s pretty evident that issa posh one somewhere in Downtown Dubai with an exceptional view of the Burj Khalifa.

Sharing a lil teaser of his quarantine sitch in Dubai, Shane also tells his fans how he’ll be self-isolating in his spacious suite:

“So going to be doing exercises and walking up and down my room, listening to podcasts, plenty of things I need to be get onto as well. Plenty of T20 stars stuff as well as my preparation to get ready for our training camp, for CSK.”

A little backstory of the IPL: The Indian Premier League is a professional Twenty20 cricket league in India contested during March or April and May of every year by eight teams representing eight different cities in India. The league was founded by the Board of Control for Cricket in India in 2008.

IPL 2020 will kickstart from September 19. Chennai Super Kings will take on defending champions Mumbai Indians in the opening round.

However, BCCI are yet to announce the complete schedule of the IPL tournament. The finale will be on November 10.
