Sharjah’s Executive Council (SEC) has approved a draft to introduce smart toll gates for trucks to help with eliminating traffic congestion and speed up the process used by heavy vehicles at gates.
The new electronic system for trucks will reduce parking time of trucks, help prevent congestion, monitor their movement, and reduce the occurrence of errors at toll gates.

Due to it’s vital location in the UAE, Sharjah’s toll gates work to provide the best traffic services without imposing any fees on other vehicles, as the pre-existing truck gates contribute to organizing their traffic and collecting the fees which are then used to develop and maintain the emirate’s road network on a regular basis.
As Sharjah roads represent a main crossing for all commuters between the emirates of the country, Sharjah’s new service aims to provide the best traffic services without imposing any fees on vehicles.
