New Taxi Booking Service Offers AED5 Rides

Sharjah residents can now enjoy taxi rides at just AED 5!

Sharjah’s Roads and Transport Authority has announced the launch of a new taxi booking service, priced at JUST AED5!

Prior to this launch, the minimum fee of a regular taxi trip in Sharjah city, was AED 11.50.

The new service targets those who regularly use public commute, families, and people of determination with the aim to provide them with a more convenient and affordable mean of transport.

The new service will implement the AED5 fee on 30 minute rides for regular or family vehicles, and will allow rides of up to 1 hour for women and people of determination.

According to Khaleej Times, a top SRTA official said that the Transportation Systems Department is constantly striving to meet the needs of its beneficiaries by providing appropriate channels for those wishing to reserve vehicles of all kinds.

To book, you can just provide the booking service with your location, phone number, date and time of reservation and the type of vehicle you need for your journey, depending on the number of people.

The new service can be booked through their website or by calling their hotline 600525252. You will also be able to book the new service via the automated pager devices available in government departments, hospitals, and hotels.
