Last week, the Ministry of Health and Prevention announced the Sinopharm COVID-19 vaccine was approved for use, and now it’s being rolled out across the Emirates for residents to access.
The Abu Dhabi health services company (SEHA) is taking registrations for vaccines in Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Sharjah, so if you WANT it, you can apply. If you take the vaccine, you’ll need two doses, exactly 21 days apart. You will need to provide your Emirates ID and insurance card. At the time of publishing, we do not know the cost of the jab.
*The Sinopharm immunisation programme showed an 86% efficacy rate in preventing infection, but a 100% rate in preventing moderate to severe symptoms, with no observed side effects.
Residents in Dubai can reportedly get the vaccine at Dubai Parks and Resorts field hospital, near Jebel Ali.
All medical clinics managed by SEHA in Abu Dhabi have the vaccine.
In Sharjah, it is available at Wasit Medical Centre in Sharjah from 4 pm to 9 pm.
The Al Humaidiya Centre in Ajman and the Al Bait Metwahid in Umm Al Quwain will have the vaccine available.
BOOK in advance!
