Sharjah Is Tightening Rules On Single People Living In Residential Neighbourhoods

The Sharjah Executive Council held a meeting on November 21 to discuss a number of topics including single people living in residential neighbourhoods. The UAE has always had specific rules highlighting where families vs single people can or cannot live.

Sharjah will tighten rules on single people living in residential neighbourhoods

The Council reviewed a report on singles’ housing in residential neighbourhoods in the Emirate, including the current status of the legislative structure regulating housing in neighbourhoods, and singles’ housing social, economic and security impacts.

Certain residential areas are only for families and authorities routinely conduct inspections to ensure bachelors don’t live in those designated areas

People have been evicted in the past for violating those rules.

The Executive Council are working on new legislations that can meet current needs and demands.
