A Huge AED 1 Billion Project Will Improve The Sharjah To Dubai Road And Other Important Transport Links

The Government of Dubai announced today that HH Sheikh Mohammed, 
Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE, and Ruler of Dubai has approved the contract for improvement of Tripoli Road, a 12 km stretch which provides a link between the between the Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Road and the Emirates Road. This part of the project will cost AED 500 million. 

The project support another project under construction by the RTA; the Airport Road Improvement Project, which is costing AED 490 million (and is 30% completed).

This will grow the capacity of the Tripoli road to 12,000 vehicles per hour in both directions

According to the Government News Centre, The Tripoli road will be widened over a 6.5km stretch.

“Such projects are essential to keep pace with the ongoing upswing witnessed by Dubai, meet the requisites of growth and demographic expansion, and bring happiness to people”

The project includes construction of four interchanges comprising a tunnel and three bridges

The project will help ease traffic flow…

“The project aims to enhance the link between Dubai and Sharjah besides easing traffic congestions, streamlining traffic movement and stepping up safety along this corridor…It is set to ease the traffic flow on these two corridors by 30%. ‘
