Sharjah residents take note; the handy process of getting your car washed by someone who works in your building has come to an end.
Authorities in our neighbouring emirate are cracking down.
It’s prohibited to wash cars in residential areas, and authorities have announced renewed measures to ensure it doesn’t happen this summer.
“Washing of cars in residential areas affects the environment as the dirty water will attract insects, and also pollute the area,” Saeed Bu Rahaima, director of the inspection operations at Sharjah Municipality stated via Khaleej Times.
Cars which are left abandoned for summer months and cleaned by car washers in particular will be targeted, “vehicle owners travelling abroad must park their cars in private car parks which are authorised to maintain the cleanliness of the car until the arrival of the owner” according to the report.
