Dubai Peeps Are Baffled At\u00a0Philippines President Rodrigo Duterte’s Advice On Cleaning Face Masks With ‘Petrol’<\/em><\/p>\n

Urmmm well this clearly isn’t a joke because the Philippines’ outspoken\u00a0President,\u00a0President Rodrigo Duterte advised his people to use petrol as a disinfectant for protective facemasks and he declared that,<\/p>\n

\n

\u201cWhat I said is true. Just go to the gasoline station, and then have some drops, that\u2019s disinfectant. I am not joking. That is true. You think I am just kidding.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

The Filipino leader made the same remark last week of using petrol on masks as a disinfectant if other cleaning agents were unavailable, however, his spokesperson dispersed it as a joke. But\u00a0Duterte stressed that his advice was NO joke in a live\u00a0televised address on Friday, July 31.<\/p>\n

If it wasn’t already clear, please note that medical experts do NOT recommend this mask cleaning tip whatsoever<\/h2>\n

Inhaling\u00a0gasoline from such close proximity can lead to severe\u00a0respiratory\u00a0diseases and other chronic medical conditions.<\/p>\n

Cleaning your reusable face mask with soap and water should do the trick just fine.<\/p>\n

The Philippines has over\u00a090k confirmed COVID-19 cases with\u00a030,928 active cases, more than 2,000 deaths and 65,000+ recoveries<\/h2>\n

Duterte extended restrictions to contain the spread of the novel virus and assured that normality would return to the country by December.<\/p>\n

Similar to the UAE mask-wearing in public has been\u00a0mandatory in the Philippines since March.<\/h2>\n
