T<\/span>he rapid spread of the\u00a0Abbco Tower Sharjah<\/a> fire was the result of <\/span>banned ‘aluminium composite cladding’.<\/span><\/p>\n Sharjah authorities stated the highly flammable material <\/span>caused the blaze to spread\u00a0quickly through the building. The material was banned by a ruling in 2016 and older buildings were expected to have replaced the cladding with other materials.
