Saudi Arabia Is Now Accepting Indian Travelers Who’ve Taken The Covaxin COVID-19 Vaccine

Reports have just come in that Saudi Arabia will not only be accepting residents but even visitors who’ve taken India’s Covaxin COVID-19 vaccine.

This comes as a relief to many expats who’ve been stranded abroad and those wanting to visit Saudi Arabia on pilgrimage. The Covaxin COVID-19 vaccine approval by Saudi Arabia comes roughly a month after the World Health Organization (WHO) granted approval for emergency use to it. The company that manufactures the vaccine, Bharat Biotech, has claimed a 78% efficacy on their vaccine.

The acceptance was announced by the Indian Embassy in Saudi Arabia through a tweet on its official Twitter handle.

Embassy is pleased to inform that Indian nationals vaccinated with ‘Covaxin’ are now approved to enter the Kingdom. Vaccine certificates are to be uploaded at https://t.co/6HfYIyq7K1 for residents and at https://t.co/WeJ3Kc9GX9 for visitors.@SaudiMOH @MEAIndia
