The Saudi Skies Are Open To All Carriers Now
The General Authority of Civil Aviation stated early on Friday that all airlines are permitted to utilise Saudi airspace provided that the overflight guidelines established by the aviation authority are followed.
Without specifying a timeframe, the authority tweeted that “all air carriers that meet the requirements of the Authority for overflying” will be allowed into Saudi airspace.
The decision came as a result of the Kingdom’s “keenness to fulfill its obligations under the Chicago Convention of 1944, which stipulates non-discrimination between civil aircrafts used in international air navigation,” the authority tweeted.
