Tehran is waking up to sirens, shattered glass, and the sound of warplanes — again.
What was supposed to be a fresh start for peace has spiraled into chaos, with Israel launching strikes on central Tehran just hours after a ceasefire was declared between Iran and Israel. The fragile truce was announced Monday night by U.S. President Donald Trump — and fell apart almost immediately.
Residents in Districts 6 and 7 reported explosions after 3AM, with Israeli airstrikes reportedly hitting areas that house not only major government buildings but also the Tehran Museum of Contemporary Art, home to the largest collection of Francis Bacon paintings in the world.
The Israeli Defense Ministry claimed it was responding to missile launches from Iran, a claim Iranian state media has denied, calling the reports “false” and saying no rockets were fired after the ceasefire.
The Washington Post dropped a bombshell of its own — literally — with an audio leak claiming that Mossad agents contacted 20 IRGC commanders, giving them just 12 hours to flee Iran or face assassination along with their families.
The authenticity of the audio hasn’t been independently verified, but it’s already sent shockwaves across Tehran.
President Trump, who personally brokered the deal, didn’t hold back. Speaking from Air Force One en route to a NATO summit, he slammed both Iran and Israel, saying:
“They’ve been fighting for so long, they don’t even know what the f*** they’re doing.”
In a now-viral Truth Social post, Trump claimed “Israel is not going to attack Iran” and that planes had been ordered to “turn around and do a friendly wave.”
As of now, no new official statements from Iran’s leadership, but the streets of Tehran are buzzing with confusion, fear, and speculation.
