President Joseph Aoun Condemns Israeli Attacks On Lebanon

Lebanon’s President Joseph Aoun condemned what he described as “barbaric” Israeli attacks, stating that they repeatedly violate international law and agreements. He accused Israel of committing yet another massacre, defying all humanitarian norms and undermining efforts toward calm and stability. The president held Israel fully responsible, warning that continued aggression would only deepen tensions and instability at a time when restraint is most needed.

Call for International Action

President Aoun also called on the international community to take responsibility, halt the repeated attacks, and curb the aggressive policies threatening regional security. He emphasized that urgent intervention is necessary to prevent further escalation and protect civilians from the devastating consequences of continued airstrikes.

Scale of the Strikes

The Israeli strikes, launched earlier today during rush hours, reportedly hit multiple residential areas across Beirut and other regions. Entire buildings were destroyed, leaving many injured and dead. The Lebanese Ministry of Health reported an initial toll of 112 killed and 837 injured in today’s attacks, highlighting the devastating human cost.

Rescue Efforts and National Mourning

Rescue teams continued searching through the rubble for survivors, while hospitals struggled to handle the surge of casualties and issued urgent calls for blood donations. In response, Lebanese Prime Minister Nawaf Salam declared Thursday a national day of mourning after the strikes shook the country and claimed over 100 lives.
