This federal decree law is designed to keep up with the fast-paced changes in transportation around the world.

Noisy vehicles will be banned, according to the new law, and using car horns in cities will only be allowed to prevent danger or accidents.

The authorities have emphasized that there will be strict consequences for serious offenses, like driving under the influence, hit-and-run incidents, crossing roads in unsafe areas, or driving in flood-prone valleys.

Pedestrians will also need to be extra cautious, as crossing roads with speed limits over 80 kilometers per hour will be off-limits. Those who don’t follow these rules could face civil or criminal penalties.

The new law will take effect on March 29, 2025

It also updates vehicle classifications to keep up with the rise of self-driving and electric vehicles. Plus, the law outlines the conditions and procedures for inspecting, registering and renewing self-driving vehicles, along with ways to test new technologies in the auto industry.
