Abu Dhabi’s New Bridges Are Here to Slash Your Commute Time!
Abu Dhabi is stepping up its game with two new bridges that promise to make your daily commute smoother than ever!
If traffic jams have been your morning struggle, you’re in for a treat. These brand-new bridges, costing a whopping Dh315 million, are now open to make your travel across key routes a breeze. The Department of Municipalities and Transport (DMT) confirmed the bridges will slash morning rush hour delays by up to 80%, bringing average wait times down to just 20 seconds.
Say goodbye to long waits—these bridges cut peak hour delays to just 20 seconds!
What’s New?
The upgrades include:
- A three-lane flyover on Al Khaleej Al Arabi Street.
- A two-lane bridge on Shakhbout Bin Sultan Street.
- Together, the bridges span 742 meters, with connecting ramps adding an extra 990 meters to the route.
But that’s not all! The project also features 61 streetlights, 46,000sqm of landscaping, and paths for pedestrians and cyclists. The infrastructure can handle 7,500 vehicles per hour, making sure it’s ready for the future hustle of Abu Dhabi.
