Electronic Boards Have Been Installed On Abu Dhabi Roads To Remind Drivers Of The Reduced Speed Limit

The speed warning signs on Abu Dhabi roads are used quite differently than in other emirates. Emirates like Dubai, allows drivers to exceed the speed by 20 kmph than the one on the signs. When there is construction going on, on the roads, a new sign is placed and coloured yellow to remind drivers to slow down.

Abu Dhabi Police installed electronic boards that will work to enhance the speed reduction system in the emirate

They’re on the left side of the main roads and they work electronically in connection with the Safe City Center, when it’s activated.

When the speed reduction system is activated, the electronic panels will display the new speed in addition to sending warning messages

The boards will urge drivers to reduce speed as it flashes the speed to 80kmph. It also gets activated when the weather conditions worsen. If there is rain, heavy wind, sandstorms, or fog, the board will alert drivers of the new speed limit.
