Inspectors got serious, urging contractors and site managers to follow the rules closely. This meant making sure workers had plenty of cold water, the right rehydration drinks, and even artificial cooling systems. Providing shade from the sun, dedicated rest areas out of the heat and first aid stations ready for anything were also key requirements.

The workshop didn’t just rely on rules; it also taught participants about the real dangers of working in extreme heat. They learnt how to spot heat stress symptoms and what to do in an emergency. Everyone was reminded about the importance of those shaded rest areas, especially in hot spots and how using tools can make physically demanding tasks easier. Plus, folks were encouraged to keep hydrating by drinking water regularly to avoid getting sick from the heat.
