The holy institute was built by the founding father His Highness Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan in 1996. It was built over the span of 12 years and opened in December 20, 2007.
The Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque is the LARGEST mosque in the UAE and third largest in the world. Additionally, it was rated as one of the World’s Most Beautiful Sights in the world by TripAdvisor.

7. The largest mosque in Sharjah – The Sharjah Mosque
More than five years in the making, the largest religious institute in Sharjah opened its doors in 2019. The AED300 million building occupies 185,806 square metres with a capacity to accommodate over 25,000 worshippers.
Also, it is home to a large library rich in Islamic works. Moreover, it is equipped to welcome non-Muslim visitors and lovers of knowledge from around the world.
Where? Emirates Road and Maleha Road intersection, Sharjah, the U.A.E.
When? Daily, 4:30am – 6am & 11:40am – 9pm

What? The Al Aziz Mosque welcomes you with its triangular-cut minaret, glass fitting, and walls, which have names of Allah in calligraphic Arabic writings.

This mosque’s exterior is a work of art!
What? This mosque may not be Sharjah’s largest but it’s certainly the most unique! If you’re a fan of contemporary Islamic architectural elements, you must visit.

2. Juma Sheikh Zayed Mosque – Ras Al Khaimah
This state of the art architecture is from the era of Sheikh Saqr bin Rashid Al Qasimi!
What? One of the oldest places of worship in the United Arab Emirates, where prayers are still held to this day. The stunning external façade has been restored with plaster, coral stones and beach rocks.

1. Mohammed bin Salem Al Qasimi mosque – Ras Al Khaimah
This mosque is over 200 years old!
What? excavations in RAK revealed this gem dating back to the 16th century, and was restored by adding a traditional plaster in layer technique and can accommodate a 1000 worshippers
