Abu Dhabi is one of the most amazing cities in the region and the world and its residents think so too! A Quality of Life Survey was conducted by the Department of Community Development (DCD) in Abu Dhabi and it showed some impressive findings.
The survey included over 82,000 participants from the community, making it a comprehensive and representative study with indicators such as housing, job opportunities, family wealth, health, education, security, social relations, and more.

An impressive 93.5% of Abu Dhabi residents reported feeling safe when walking alone at night; this figure has improved from the 93% recorded in 2020 and surpasses the rates found in all OECD countries. The results reflect the successful efforts of the local authorities in ensuring the well-being and safety of the community.
The happiness and well-being index also revealed an increase in the level of happiness, with the score rising from 7.17 in 2020 to 7.63.
When it comes to social relations, the survey showed that 74% of respondents agreed or strongly agreed that they are satisfied with their social relationships. Additionally, 73% expressed satisfaction with their family life, and the percentage of time spent with family members increased to 39.2%, up from 23.9% in the previous cycle. People who frequently met with friends, several times a week, reported the highest levels of happiness, scoring 7.49 out of 10.
The QOLS has been conducted over three cycles between 2020 and 2022, with the participation of nearly 200,000 community members, including both citizens and residents. Their valuable opinions and suggestions have contributed to the understanding of the community’s needs and aspirations, aiding in the continuous improvement of the quality of life in Abu Dhabi.
The survey revealed several important indicators, including the fact that 93.5% of Abu Dhabi residents feel a sense of personal security and safety.
