Mayar Ibrahim

The UAE values itself on its presentation, looks, and the way the country and its people takes care of the nation and themselves. So, if you’re planning a vacation and not taking your car into account… Then that counts as abandoning your car which is an offense punishable with a AED3,000 fine and vehicle confiscation in Abu Dhabi.

All you have to do to avoid the AED3,000 fine and vehicle confiscation is plan ahead!

People spotted authorities placing stickers on dusty cars in outdoor parking lots and in front of houses. Granted, most people did not abandon their cars in the literal sense. However, they did neglect the up-keeping of their vehicles.

When people go on vacations for long periods of time it leads to their car getting dusty. Authorities urge residents to take care of their cars as the dust can lead to their vehicle getting rusty.

Here’s how you can plan ahead to ensure your car is taken care of:

  1. Hire someone to clean your car at least once a week
  2. Park in an underground parking so your car does not get dusty
  3. Ask a friend or relative in the country to take care of your car while you’re away
