Masks may be optional but Abu Dhabi still requires a green status on the Al Hosn. Residents, citizens and tourists must present their pass on the application to enter public spaces in Abu Dhabi.
The National Emergency Crisis and Disaster Management Authority announced the updates yesterday. Additionally, public spaces still require a green Al Hosn pass upon entry. These spaces include malls, restaurants, parks, and attractions.
For the vaccinated and exempted folks, the NCEMA extended the validity from 14 days to 30 days. So, vaccinated and exempted people need to test every 30 days. They also have to receive a negative PCR test result to keep their Al Hosn pass green.
On the other hand, the NCEMA extended the green pass for unvaccinated folks from 2 days to 7 days. So, unvaccinated people need to test every 7 days. They also have to receive a negative PCR test result to keep their Al Hosn pass green.
Additionally, the UAE classifies those who received 2 initial vaccination shots and a booster as fully vaccinated.
Then again, the requirements are dependent on the destination of travel. For those entering the UAE, the current protocol is still valid for vaccinated and unvaccinated people.
So, folks traveling to Abu Dhabi do not need to get tested before their flight if they are fully vaccinated. Children under 12 are exempt.
However, those who are not vaccinated must present a negative PCR test result. They need to present a negative result valid for 48 hours, or a COVID-19 recovery certificate. The recovery certificate must be valid within 30 days of departure and include a QR code.
#NCEMA: The requirements for pre-departure testing for vaccinated and unvaccinated people will be determined at the request of travel destinations. As for those coming to the country, the current protocol is still valid for vaccinated and unvaccinated people.
