Forget those dusty desert drives, Abu Dhabi-Al Dhannah commutes are getting a fast and sustainable upgrade
Etihad Rail and ADNOC have joined forces to bring passenger train services to Al Dhannah, a town about 250km west of Abu Dhabi and home to 29,000 residents. The town, established in the 1970s as a home for ADNOC’s workforce, is soon getting a more convenient connection to the capital city.
Get on board with a greener commute:
This partnership aligns with ADNOC’s commitment to sustainability and reducing emissions, aiming for their ambitious Net Zero by 2045 goal. Sheikh Theyab bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan remarked that this project showcases “the vision of Etihad Rail to provide world-class passenger experiences”.
Faster than a speeding camel:
The Etihad Rail network boasts impressive speed, connecting Abu Dhabi and Dubai in a mere 50 minutes. With the addition of the Al Dhannah route, commuting for ADNOC employees and residents becomes quicker and greener.
Future of passenger rail in the UAE:
This new service is part of Etihad Rail’s larger ambition to connect 11 cities across the nation, projected to cater to a whopping 36.5 million passengers annually by 2030.
The future of transport in the UAE is looking fast, efficient, and environmentally conscious.
