The first Emirati astronaut, Hazzaa AlMansoori, has achieved yet another success- this time in the form of a paper.
The Abu Dhabi University has awarded Khalifa University an honorary doctoral degree on Sunday. More than 400 students were present to see AlMansoori receive the first-ever PhD degree during the university’s Science and Technology Class of 2019 graduation ceremony at Emirates Palace Hotel.
Khalifa University is the first academic institution in the UAE to graduate the first batch of students in Aerospace Engineering, adding to the link between the awarding of Hazzaa Al Mansoori’s doctorate. Inspired students stood and watched as the recently-returned astronaut accepted his degree with gratitude.

The historic take-off was seen by millions of Arabs around the world, who congratulated not just the UAE but the region for having taken on space- just as Baba Zayed, the founding father of the UAE, always envisioned.
