Mohammed Yahya Will Make History As The First Emirati To Fight At UFC 294

When Mohammed Yahya enters the UFC for the first time as an Emirati, history will be made.

Yahya will be the very first Emirati to compete in the UFC

The 29-year-old athlete will make his UFC 294 debut at Etihad Arena in Abu Dhabi on October 21st after signing a contract with the top mixed martial arts organisation in the world.

The UFC has not yet officially confirmed the match between Yahya and American Trevor Peek, the lightweight champion of the UAE Warriors Arabia.

The main event of UFC 294 will be a rematch between lightweight champion Islam Makhachev and former champion Charles Oliveira. This fight first took place at UFC 280 in Abu Dhabi last October.

Yahya was born in Oxford, England, to an Emirati father and an English mother, and moved to Dubai when he was one. He began mixed martial arts at the age of 14, competing in jiu-jitsu and kickboxing, where he amassed a 22-0 amateur record.

Yahya made his professional mixed martial arts debut in 2012, signing with a local organisation called Desert Force, and went on to triumph in four of his five fights. He competed twice in Bellator, earning one win and one loss. In 2019, he signed with UAE Warriors.

Yahya is now the promotion’s lightweight Arabian champion after winning seven of her last eight fights. He made three title defences.

Yahya most recently competed in February, defeating Souhil Tahiri by unanimous decision.
