In efforts to further ease travel restrictions and requirements for those visiting the UAE’s capital, Etihad Airways has announced changes in the on-arrival testing policy in Abu Dhabi.
Both vaccinated, and unvaccinated visitors are exempt from taking a PCR test when arriving at Abu Dhabi’s International airport, effective immediately: “You no longer need a test to fly to Abu Dhabi if you’re vaccinated or you’re under 16, or you hold a COVID-19 recovery certificate. If you’re not vaccinated or flying to another destination, please follow the latest travel requirements,” Etihad Airways stated on their official website.
If you’re unvaccinated and over the age of 16 you still need to display a certificate of Covid-19 recovery dated within 30 days of your flight or a negative PCR test result taken within 48 hours of your departure.
Should travellers opt for a test on their own will, they can do so at their own expense at just 40 Dirhams at the arrivals testing facility within the airport.
For your own reassurance, you can also find out more info on travel guidelines through Etihad Airlines’ official website based on your departure and arrival destination.
Despite easing travel restrictions, you will still need a green Al Hosn pass to enter cafes, restaurants, and other tourist attractions when visiting the capital. So if you’re vaccinated, you’ll still need a negative PCR test for every 14 days spent in the capital to maintain your green pass’s status!
