The New Swimming Pool Rules Could Land You AED20,000 In Fines

Avatar

Abu Dhabi: Public swimming pool owners and operators in Abu Dhabi must now have a valid license, failure to do so could land you up to AED20,000 in fines.

There’s also an AED2,000 fine for missing inspection records according to a Khaleej Times report.

The announcement regarding tourist swimming pools in the capital was made via the General Secretariat of the Executive Council in Abu Dhabi. Fortunately an exception was made for private and residential pool owners, so if you’ve got a pool in your home, this new law addition is not a cause for concern

Public pool operators must follow strict guidelines and failure to do so could result in an order to remove the pool within seven days. A guide is in place for operators and fines will be based on the extent of the violation.
