In the video, the Kuwaiti TikToker criticised the images posted online because of how culturally incorrect they were. For example, the Qatari and Kuwaiti Barbies are wearing traditional men’s headdresses the Ghitra and Agar. While the Emirati Barbie has Eurocentric features – blonde hair and blue eyes.
Ever since the outrage, Buzzfeed deleted the article containing the GCC Barbies.
