Following a visit to Saudi Arabia, Russian President Vladimir Putin is set to make his way to the UAE on Tuesday.
Yep, a day from now.
Preparations have been well and underway for his visit, with both the UAE and Russian flags aligned in Abu Dhabi’s Corniche. This is the Russian President’s second visit to the country, following his last visit in 2017- where a mutual agreement was signed at the royal court.

The UAE ambassador to Russia, Madadhah AlKhaili, says that the this visit is set to further enhance the strategic partnership between the two, according to WAM.
“The volume of mutual trade between the two countries has grown significantly in recent years, with the Russian Federation ranked first among the UAE’s trading partners in Eastern Europe and Central Asia, and the UAE maintaining its position as Russia’s primary trade partner in the Arabian Gulf in 2018.”
More than 900,00 Russian tourists actually visited the UAE last year, since the visit of Putin in 2017- proving how progressional and open the two countries are towards each other. This was especially evident when the take off of the Soyuz rocket, where the UAE’s first Emirati astronaut Hazza Al Mansoori’s takeoff took place.
