Abu Dhabi drivers, heads up! Big changes are coming to the Darb toll system starting September 1, 2025. The Integrated Transport Centre (Abu Dhabi Mobility) has announced updates designed to make your daily commute smoother and reduce traffic congestion on key roads.
The morning toll timing remains the same, running from 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m., Monday through Saturday. However, the evening period has been extended, now active from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Sundays and official public holidays remain completely free of charge.
Big news! There will no longer be any maximum limit on toll charges. Previously, private vehicles had daily caps of Dhs16 and monthly caps ranging from Dhs100 to Dhs200 depending on the vehicle. Now, each crossing will cost Dhs4, with no upper limit.
The update doesn’t affect those who already enjoy exemptions. People of Determination, low-income families, senior citizens, and retirees will still pass toll gates without paying.
New toll timings start September 1, 2025.
Morning period: 7am – 9am (Monday to Saturday).
Evening period: 3pm – 7pm (Monday to Saturday).
No daily or monthly caps for private vehicles; each passage costs AED4.
Toll-free on Sundays and public holidays.
These changes aim to streamline traffic and make daily driving more predictable for everyone, so plan ahead and stay safe on the roads!
