Abu Dhabi Goes Wireless: Free Public Wi-Fi Takes Off

Avatar

Abu Dhabi has taken a giant leap towards becoming a truly connected city with the launch of free public Wi-Fi coverage across the emirate.

This game-changing initiative, spearheaded by the Department of Municipalities and Transport (DMT), is set to revolutionize the way residents and visitors connect, engage, and experience the city.

The rollout of free Wi-Fi extends to a wide range of public spaces, including public transport buses, beaches, and public parks.

This ensures that residents and visitors can seamlessly access the digital world, whether they’re commuting, enjoying a stroll in the park, or soaking up the sun at the beach.

The initiative, a collaborative effort between the DMT and UAE service providers, is designed to support Abu Dhabi’s smart city vision and enhance its digital infrastructure. By providing ubiquitous Wi-Fi access, the city is fostering a connected environment that fosters innovation, collaboration, and social interaction.

With Wi-Fi now available in 19 public parks across Abu Dhabi, 11 in Al Ain, and 14 in Al Dhafra Region, residents and visitors can enjoy seamless connectivity wherever they go. And soon, even more locations will join the Wi-Fi revolution, with Abu Dhabi Corniche beach and Al Bateen beach set to receive the digital upgrade.
