Protect sensitive information

Videos of missile interceptions or impact sites can unintentionally reveal critical details, such as the direction of incoming projectiles, interception points or debris locations. Even brief clips can be analyzed and misused, potentially compromising security operations and response efforts.

Other than that, sharing footage on social media can spread faster than verified information. Without proper context, it may cause unnecessary fear, panic or confusion in the community. Once online, videos can be misinterpreted, miscaptioned, reposted as if they are current events, or digitally manipulated. This makes it difficult for the public to know what is accurate.

It is important to support emergency and security efforts

In the UAE, sharing images or videos of incident sites can violate the law. Circulating misleading information about security events is also prohibited.

Violating these rules can result in serious consequences. Fines start at no less than AED 200,000. Legal action may also be taken, especially if the content spreads panic or threatens public safety.

What you should do

If you witness such an event:

  • Do not film or share it online
  • Avoid reposting videos from unverified sources
  • Follow updates only from official government channels
  • Refrain from spreading rumors or speculation

Not recording or sharing these events may seem small, but it plays a crucial role in protecting sensitive information, supporting authorities and maintaining public safety. Help the UAE to keep everyone safe!
