Heads Up, Drivers: Al Maryah Street Bridge Closed For Maintenance

Avatar

A crucial connection between Abu Dhabi island and Al Maryah Island is taking a temporary break, as the Al Maryah Street bridge will be closed for nearly a month starting Monday, January 8th.

Drivers using this route to reach the emirate’s financial district, including Abu Dhabi Global Market, Rosewood Abu Dhabi hotel, The Galleria mall, and Cleveland Clinic, will need to seek alternative routes until February 3rd.

The Integrated Transport Centre announced the closure, which is a familiar sight for some, as the same bridge underwent a two-week shutdown in early 2023. These planned closures are typically implemented to upgrade traffic systems, carry out essential road maintenance, or even facilitate expansion projects.

While the disruption may cause some inconvenience, it ultimately serves the purpose of improving the infrastructure and ensuring smooth and efficient traffic flow in the future. Drivers are advised to plan their journeys accordingly and explore alternative routes, such as the Sheikh Zayed Bridge or the Maqta Bridge, to reach their destinations during the closure period.

The Integrated Transport Centre is likely to release additional information and recommended detours closer to the closure date. Stay tuned for further updates and plan your commute wisely!
