Israeli Ambassador To The UAE May Be Recalled After A Behavior Complaint

Israeli Ambassador to the UAE, Yossi Shelley, is expected to be sent back to Israel.

This comes after reports of undignified behavior during a night out at a bar in Abu Dhabi

The Emirati government learned of the incident and communicated its displeasure to Israel through unofficial channels.

What happened?

Yossi Shelley, Former Chief of Staff to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and current Israeli Ambassador to the UAE, went out a few months ago to an Abu Dhabi bar with friends and reportedly behaved in an undignified manner.

The aftermath

The incident reportedly angered Emirati officials, who raised the issue with Israel through unofficial channels.

Despite the reports, the Prime Minister’s Office denies any decision has been made to recall Shelley. However, sources close to Netanyahu are reportedly exploring other roles for him once his ambassadorship ends, The Times of Israel reports.
