For ILOE (Insurance for Loss of Employment)

According to Amin, employees should know their rights under ILOE (Insurance for Loss of Employment). To qualify, one must have contributed for at least 12 months, and the job loss must be involuntary. It means you did not resign or sign your own resignation. Your ILOE coverage must also be active, and claims can only be made while inside the UAE.

When it comes to salary cuts

Employers cannot enforce reductions without the employee’s agreement and signature. End-of-service benefits must be calculated based on the actual salary, regardless of any discussions about pay adjustments.

Visa responsibilities remain the employer’s duty

Whether termination occurs early or late, employees are not responsible for visa fees. Visa fees are always the employer’s responsibility, not yours.

Amid these rules, it’s important to keep perspective. Losing a job, even when performing well, often reflects company circumstances rather than personal failure. Many employees have used such transitions to find better opportunities, higher salaries, and improved positions. Better opportunities lie ahead!

“Keep your head high and stay positive,” Amin advises. “A better future is on the horizon.”
