New UAE Initiative Turns Donations Into Lasting Support For Orphans

The UAE just launched an initiative that transforms one-time donations into lifelong impact, and it’s all about securing a brighter future for orphans.

Under the patronage of UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Awqaf Abu Dhabi has officially launched the Mother of the Nation Endowment for Orphans… a sustainable funding model designed to provide long-term support for orphan care across the country

And this isn’t just another campaign.

It’s an endowment model, meaning contributions don’t just help once. They create a continuous source of funding that supports orphan welfare for years to come.

Turning one-time giving into a lasting framework of care

The initiative aims to:

  • Secure a more stable future for orphans

  • Improve their overall quality of life

  • Strengthen social solidarity across the UAE

  • Promote endowment as a powerful tool for community development

Instead of short-term aid, this model focuses on sustainable giving, ensuring support continues to grow over time.

The campaign honours the legacy of Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan and reflects the values championed by Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, rooted in humanitarianism, family, and social solidarity

The initiative aligns with the UAE’s broader national priorities, including the Year of Family… reinforcing a society built on compassion and collective responsibility.

Awqaf Abu Dhabi isn’t new to large-scale initiatives. Its previous “Life Endowment” campaign raised nearly AED 1 billion in just four weeks, with contributions from more than 200,000 donors.

Now, the focus shifts to orphan care, with a sustainable approach designed to create real, lasting change.

Because in the UAE, giving isn’t just about today… it’s about building a stronger tomorrow!
