Abu Dhabi Police shared important updates on traffic regulations for drivers and pedestrians!

Pedestrians now have priority when crossing in school, hospital and residential areas…

Motorists will face a AED 500 fine and 6 traffic points for not giving way to pedestrians in 40 km/h zones in the mentioned areas.

This applies even in areas without crossing lines.

The Traffic and Patrols Directorate is reminding drivers to stay alert, slow down, especially near pedestrian areas, and avoid distractions

They highlighted that keeping pedestrians safe is a team effort between drivers and walkers.
