If you’re looking for things to do this week(end), how does a trip to Jebel Hafeet National Park in Abu Dhabi sound?
Who knows you might end up spotting a rare animal that hasn’t been around for YEARS.
No, seriously, yet another rare creature was spotted in the UAE after 17 long years.
The Environment Agency of Abu Dhabi (EAD) posted a video on their ‘gram showing a recording of the Blanford’s fox (Vulpes cana) making an appearance at Jebel Hafeet National Park after an absence of 17 years.
According to their description, the Blanford’s fox is an omnivorous animal, that mostly eats plants and small insects.
“They are also well suited to climbing and jumping over rocks and cliff faces.”
It was last seen in Abu Dhabi in the year of 1984.
Before that, a sighting of a group of false killer whales was made for the first time in 24 years just off the coast of Fujairah.
