Several reports in international media came out saying Saudi Arabia was going to invest in football team Manchester United.
Sources believed that Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman and the governing class of the Kingdom would have bought United as part of a new takeover that could cost £3 billion.
The stories came after Manchester United’s co-chairman Avram Glazer is due to visit the Kingdom next week, reporting he might meet some of Saudi’s top investors. Claims were made tying the Crown Prince MBS of wanting to purchase United and take on rivals Manchester City, owned by Abu Dhabi-based royalty.
