Sheikh Mohamed And Sheikh Khaled Proudly Raised The UAE Flag Today!

Every year on November 3rd, the UAE gets decked out in red, green, white and black to mark a super special moment…

The first time the UAE flag was raised back in 1971.

This day is all about celebrating unity, pride and independence and everyone finds their own way to join the fun!

So, what’s Flag Day all about?

It’s the day when the UAE’s iconic flag first soared high, symbolizing the birth of a nation. From the very first flag-raising in 1971, this day has been a reminder of how the Emirates came together as one. It’s not just about a piece of fabric—it’s about the spirit of the people and the journey of the country.

Celebrations took over the country!

Some gathered outdoors, rocking sashes in the flag’s colors and looking up as the flag waved proudly. Kids showed off their flags on uniforms mixing red, white, green, and black, while others danced around their living rooms with scarves and mini flags.

The anthem ‘عيشي بلادي عاش اتحاد إماراتنا’ (My homeland lives, long live the union of our emirates) played everywhere, adding to the excitement. Even H.H Sheikh Khaled bin Mohammed and H.H Mohammed bin Zayed joined in, raising the flag with pride!

Flag colors carried deep meaning

Ever wondered what those bold colors stand for? Each one has its own story: white means generosity and kindness, red stands for sacrifice for the homeland, green is all about vibrant growth and success, and black represents courage and resilience. So next time you see the UAE flag waving against the blue sky, you’ll know it’s more than just colors—it’s a symbol of everything the country stands for!
