Starting February 9, Abu Dhabi is cutting speed limits on some major roads across the emirate. This is part of a bigger plan to boost road safety and reduce accidents on the busiest routes.
So if you’re cruising down Abu Dhabi–Al Ain Road (E22) Bani Yas Interchange or Al Rawdah Road (E30), get ready to ease off the pedal.

Speed limit drops from 160 km/h to 140 km/h between Al Nahda Interchange and Bani Yas Interchange.
Speed limit also drops from 140 km/h to 120 km/h from Bani Yas Interchange to the Bridge Complex.
Speed limit is reduced from 120 km/h to 100 km/h in both directions.
If you’re driving through these areas, make sure you stick to the new limits. The idea is to regulate traffic, reduce accidents, and make the driving experience smoother for everyone.
Keep an eye out for the updated road signs to help you stay on track.
